🔸Alkap is a rural dance-drama performance prevalent in the Rajmahal hills of Jharkhand and Murshidabad and Malda regions of West Bengal.
🔸 It is performed by troops of 10-12 dancers, accompanied by one or two lead singers known as gayens.
🔸 The troops perform popular folk lore and mythological stories, in which the dance is interspersed with comical sketches known as kap.
🔸The dance is generally associated with the Gajan festival of Shiva.

🔸અલકાપ એ ઝારખંડની રાજમહેલ ટેકરીઓ અને પશ્ચિમ બંગાળના મુર્શિદાબાદ અને માલદા પ્રદેશોમાં પ્રચલિત ગ્રામીણ નૃત્ય-નાટક પ્રદર્શન છે.
🔸 તે 10-12 નર્તકોની ટુકડીઓ દ્વારા રજૂ કરવામાં આવે છે, જેની સાથે ગેયન્સ તરીકે ઓળખાતા એક કે બે મુખ્ય ગાયકો હોય છે.
🔸 ટુકડીઓ લોકપ્રિય લોકકથાઓ અને પૌરાણિક કથાઓ રજૂ કરે છે, જેમાં નૃત્યને કેપ તરીકે ઓળખાતા હાસ્યજનક સ્કેચ સાથે જોડવામાં આવે છે.
