📝 Sittanavasal Cave (Arivar Koil) Paintings 🔶 Dated from 1st century BC to 10th century AD, and located in Tamil Nadu, these famous rock-cut cave temples are known for the paintings based on Jainism. 🔶 These murals have close resemblance to Bagh and Ajanta paintings.The paintings are not only on the walls but also on the ceiling and pillars. 🔶 The paintings are with the theme of Jain Samavasarana (Preaching hall).Some scholars believe that these caves belong to the Pallava period, when King Mahendravarman I excavated the temple, while others attribute them to when Pandya ruler renovated the shrine in the 7th century. 🔶 The medium used for painting was vegetable and mineral dyes, and was done by putting colours on surface of thin wet lime plaster. 🔶 The common colours included yellow, green, orange, blue, black and white.📝 સિત્તનવાસલ ગુફા (અરિવર કોઈલ) ચિત્રો 🔶 ઈ.સ. પૂર્વે 1લી સદીથી 10મી સદી સુધીની, અને તમિલનાડુમાં સ્થિત, આ પ્રખ્યાત રોક-કટ ગુફા મંદિરો જૈન ધર્મ પર આધારિત ચિત્રો માટે જાણીતા છે.🔶 આ ભીંતચિત્રો બાગ અને અજંતાનાં ચિત્રો સાથે ગાઢ સામ્ય ધરાવે છે. આ ચિત્રો માત્ર દિવાલો પર જ નહીં, પણ છત અને થાંભલાઓ પર પણ છે.🔶 ચિત્રો જૈન સમવસરણ (પ્રચાર હોલ) ની થીમ સાથે છે. કેટલાક વિદ્વાનો માને છે કે આ ગુફાઓ પલ્લવ કાળની છે, જ્યારે રાજા મહેન્દ્રવર્મન પ્રથમએ મંદિરનું ખોદકામ કર્યું હતું, જ્યારે અન્ય લોકો તેને શ્રેય આપે છે કે જ્યારે પંડ્યા શાસકે 7મી સદીમાં મંદિરનો જીર્ણોદ્ધાર કર્યો હતો. .🔶 પેઇન્ટિંગ માટે વપરાતું માધ્યમ વનસ્પતિ અને ખનિજ રંગોનું હતું, અને પાતળા ભીના ચૂનાના પ્લાસ્ટરની સપાટી પર રંગો મૂકીને કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું.🔶 સામાન્ય રંગોમાં પીળો, લીલો, નારંગી, વાદળી, કાળો અને સફેદ સમાવેશ થાય છે.
